| 内容記述 | 要旨 これまで、『枕草子』第130 段の清少納言歌の「夜をこめて」という表現は、①「まだ夜の明けないうちに」、②「一晩中」、③「夜が深いうちに」という三つの解釈がなされてきた。本稿ではまず、「夜をこめて」という表現が、清少納言と藤原行成のどのような会話で生まれたのかを考察した。二人の会話は、後朝の文を装った行成に対し、それに乗りつつも不実をなじる清少納言、という形で展開している。清少納言の「夜をこめて」という表現は、行成が午前一時より前に清少納言のもとを辞したことを前提とする表現であることを示した。続いて、『枕草子』の同時代までの「夜をこめて」の用例を挙げて考察し、「一晩中」という解釈が不当であることを示した。これらの考察から、当章段の「夜をこめて」は「夜が深いうちに」と解釈すべきことを明らかにした。 |

| 内容記述 | Abstract Until now, there have been three interpretations of the expression ‘yo-wo-komete’ in Sei-Shonagon's poem in the 130th verse of "The Pillow Book": (1) ‘before dawn,’ (2) ‘all night long,’ and (3) ‘while the night is deep’. In this paper, I first examine how the expression ‘yo-wo-kome-te’ originated in a conversation between Sei-Shonagon and FUJIWARA Yukinari. The conversation between the two developed in the form of Yukinari pretending to be a poet of the later dynasty, and Sei-Shonagon taking advantage of his pretensions but criticizing his untruthfulness. I have shown that Sei-Shonagon's expression ‘yo-wo-kome-te’ is based on the premise that Yukinari left Sei-Shonagon before one o'clock in the morning. Then, I discussed the examples of the use of ‘yo-wo-komete’ in "The Pillow Book" up to the same period, and showed that the interpretation of ‘all night long’ is unjustified. From these considerations, it is clear that ‘yo-wo-kome-te’ in this chapter should be interpreted as ‘while the night is deep’. |
